Our idea is a project of the robotics group of the first experimental primary school of Pyrgos. Targeted to the agricultural productive countryside , aimed to create additional opportunities for the exploitation of our important local products, such as the oil, wine and honey, both for small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as for the family nature of agricultural holdings.
What is the major innovation of your idea?
A low-cost wireless sensor network for the agricultural water management system which can increase the capacity for monitoring and managing water . Moreover the sensor can be a high accuracy Temperature and Humidity sensor . Besides can be a flame detector module used to detect fire in a large area . It can analog and digital outputs .
What are the main challenges and barriers in implementing the idea?
- To bring the agricultural business community in a contact with the best practices and methods in the agro food sector (mainly oil , wine, beekeeping, etc.)
- The training of businesses and their familiarization with applied research and innovation .
- The protection of agri-food products from natural disasters
-To encourage the family agricultural holdings to the needs and demands of the new market and innovation since they are still attached to the traditional ways .
Have you already undertaken any actions towards implementation (including distinctions/awards or funding)?
For this project, we have already declared participation in several competitions aiming of distinction, however, we have made contacts with institutions of our city for the possibility of inclusion in a granted program.
Which will be the impact of your idea for the local/regional society?
The ultimate goal during the implementation of this project is to develop synergies to promote as much as possible the commercial future of our local products and also to bring our business world into contact with all the necessary and innovative support tools .
