In the conference held on Friday, November 5, 2021 in the hall of the Corfu Chamber of Commerce, in the context of the public consultation held by the Ministry of Rural Development & Food in the 13 Regions of the country in order to formulate the country's proposals for the new CAP 2022-2027. The Deputy Regional Minister of Rural Development, Theodoros Vassilopoulos, participated.
The conference, which was attended by political representatives, as well as representatives of agricultural and productive organizations from all the islands of the Ionian Islands Region, emphasized that the overriding goal should be to ensure both the agricultural income of each producer and the conditions that will lead to to increase the competitiveness of the Greek primary sector and to the priorities of strategic planning, as well as to the important reforms. Issues discussed by Mr. Vassilopoulos - conveying the wishes of Regional Governor Nektarios Farmakis - both with the Regional Governor of the Ionian Islands Rodi Kratsa-Tsagaropoulou in Corfu, and with the Regional Governor of Epirus Alexandros Kachrimanis at the meeting. In his statements after the meetings held by Mr. Vassilopoulos, he pointed out the following: The new Common Agricultural Policy should become our own plan for the development of our agricultural production in the coming years, we owe the Regions to assist in this effort to change the productive model ".
